That's all candid is?

What am I missing here? Is there some sort of other definition Wikipedia isn't telling me?

The lack of consent thing kinda' squicks me out about it too, to be honest. Yet, I don't see a huge amount of harm coming from it unless the person is being visibly identified in a way that could hurt them. The fact is that we're living in a culture where everyone has cameras now and candid snaps of things around us are happening all the time.

Generally I'd say photos taken in public settings (in a park, at a concert, etc...), even if the act of taking those photos could be considered "creepy" by context, I don't have too much of a problem with.

However, when the photos are taken in situations where the person is expecting privacy (bathrooms stalls, locker rooms, and things like that) I'd say it crosses the line from "creepy" into something much worse (and most likely rather criminal).

not such a fan of the lack of consent... but still, it's not much different from peoplewatching...

Depends. If it's something inappropriate, then it's disgusting. If not, it's just fine.

Its a tricky question really. While fundamentally it is WRONG and immoral, I don't think it actually does much harm. There is quite a low chance of someone actually finding a candid pic of themselves online unless they are browsing sites centered on that the specific fetish. Besides, if it was a candid pic of a thin person standing no one would give a shit, but when its someone with extra pounds around people go apeshit over the fact that it isn't a "flattering" picture.

Then again I'm ok with the idea that there are people fapping to pics of my ass. So I might be biased. Maybe some people find it scary that basement dwellers get their kicks from looking at stuff online without going outside.
