But yeah, mostly just people playing video games for the internet in (hopefully) an entertaining fashion. SomethingAwful originated the whole thing as some sort of thing (although people have obviously recorded themselves playing video games for years before) and as such they've got the best overall quality (thus the archive I linked.)

I'm sort of an afficionado.
